Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Cherry was one of the first major US films to shoot in AlUla. Starring Tom Holland, the drama follows an Iraq War veteran’s descent into addiction and crime. Although set in the US and Iraq, AlUla’s desert landscapes provided an authentic backdrop for key scenes.

The production played a vital role in developing Saudi Arabia’s filmmaking infrastructure, bringing together international and local talent while further cementing AlUla’s reputation as a cinematic destination.
